Babies love Peek-a-boo with our Kindermusik scarves!

First 8 weeks:

Cock-a-doodle-Moo! -- Hop on the hayride—it’s time to head for the farm! In this class, you will sing songs about the farm, including “Old MacDonald,” “Hayride,” and “Clever Cows.” You’ll engage in rituals and playful activities with your baby, including infant massage, lap bounces, exercise, and quiet time.

Home Materials: A picture board book with charming farm animals and the sounds they make—Cock-a-doodle-Moo, a CD of the songs heard in class, a Sunshine Jingle instrument for music-making at home, and a set of Art Banners for the nursery wall. All in a classy diaper bag!

Second 8 weeks:

DewDrops -- Stop and smell the roses—and lily of the valley, and tulips, and pansies. In this class, parents and babies will play and move together to songs about flowers, such as “Jasmine Flower,” “How Does Your Garden Grow?,” and “White Coral Bells.” You’ll also hear traditional Irish music, dance a jig and move to the “Irish Trot.”

Home Materials: CD of beautifully arranged songs from class, a board book of colorful flowers—DewDrops, a set of Art Banners for the nursery wall, and a Flower Bells instrument for music-making at home.

A ride on the blanket is always a treat!

Kindermusik Village is a curriculum designed to meet the developmental needs of babies from birth to 1.5 years. Much has been said about the benefits of exposing even our tiniest children to rhythmic and musical activities, and Kindermusik has accepted the challenge of providing an environment for this exposure.

During 45 minute sessions with a parent or caregiver, Baby is given the opportunity to explore sight and sound in a multitude of activities. The lessons are developmentally appropriate for lap babies, crawlers and early walkers. A diverse group in age and ability level is ideal for creating a rich and stimulating environment for Baby to experience. Since it is commonly known that children love to study each other and to learn from each other, our Village classes are designed to make that happen.

Each lesson includes a gathering time for the parents and their babies, activities that encourage lots of touching and embracing, a wide range of movement activities such as rocking, bouncing, flying and swooping, and a special emphasis on vocal development. Age appropriate books and rhythm instruments are used for visual and auditory development. Beginning Baby Sign language is also introduced.

Each semester there are usually two 8 week themes for Village classes.
